Abby is a senior at the University of Delaware and a Bethlehem native. Abby majors in Biological Sciences with a minor in Genetic Counseling. She also works at the UD Writing Center as a writing tutor, where she helps students edit and refine their work, brainstorm ideas for future projects, and develop lasting writing skills.
In her free time, Abby is involved in Northern Delaware Young Life where she volunteers as a Young Life leader at the Charter School of Wilmington. Through Young Life, Abby supports high school students as they tackle the challenges of high school and learn more about following the Lord. Abby also enjoys hiking, watching movies with friends, and sewing clothes. She plans to hike the Pacific Crest Trail after finishing her undergraduate degree.
This summer, Abby is thrilled to join Cetronia Ambulance Corps as an intern through the Workforce Investment Board’s State/Local Internship Program. This eight-week program allows Pennsylvania youth and young adults to work with local companies, gain valuable field experience, and develop their job skills. Abby is excited to learn more about Cetronia and the world of emergency response.
“We are happy to have Abby join us for the summer to gain knowledge of the EMS world. During her time with us, she will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects that will broaden her skill set in marketing, public relations, event planning, database management, and more. We are extremely happy for the great partnership we have with the WIB. Working with them has brought some excellent candidates through the internship program. We are excited as to where the future will take Abby and all of the other young adults who are participating in the program this summer,” said Cetronia Ambulance Corps Interim CEO Bob Mateff.
