February 26 and 27, 2022 from 08:00 – 16:00; Must attend both dates, have current drivers license and be at least 18 years old.
Participants will gain and/or verify a broad range of competencies associated with emergency vehicle driving, including basic understanding of emergency vehicle operations and skills necessary for practical application. This internationally known course is highly recommended by several state, regional, and local emergency service entities.
It is a 2-day training that involves classroom and hands-on training. Participants must attend both sessions.
EVDT provides emergency vehicle operators with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely operate an emergency vehicle in emergency and non-emergency scenarios. The Pennsylvania Department of Health requires that all EMS operators take a DOH-approved course prior to operating an emergency vehicle. Topics covered in EVDT include: legal aspects of emergency vehicle operations, navigation and route mapping, driver roles and responsibilities, basic driving skills, and proper driving procedures.
